Around the Warehouse

Ordering in the Shop

The Shop is the customer’s side of the Warehouse. Order there, and you can follow your own order through the ERP, the WMS, and the Floor until the carrier delivers it.

Look around

Open Shop in the app switcher. The shelves are open to everyone: eight departments from Food to Toys, a search field on each department page, and a page per article with photo, price including VAT, and availability.

In stock, Only 3 left, or Out of stock is what the ERP can still sell: the stock the Warehouse last reported, minus what other orders already hold. Nothing is reserved while an article sits in your cart.

Place an order

To order, you need an account with a confirmed email address; Add to cart opens the login for guests. You can add up to what is available. If an article sells out in the meantime, the cart says so and checkout waits until you change the quantity.

There is no payment step and nothing is charged. Enter a delivery address in the fairy-tale land; a made-up one is best, because no parcel will really arrive. The address is saved with your first order and offered again next time.

Shipping costs €4.95 and is free from €50.00 of goods. Checkout shows the planned delivery date: an order placed on a weekday before 14:00 leaves the same day and arrives the next weekday.

When an order leaves and arrives, by the time it is placed.
  1. Choose an article, set the quantity, and select Add to cart.
  2. Open Cart and select Proceed to checkout.
  3. Check the delivery address and the planned delivery date.
  4. Select Place order. You land on your order with its number.

Follow your order

My orders lists everything you have ordered. Each order shows a status with one sentence on what is happening, from Open to Delivered. With the order number, you find the same order in the ERP and in the WMS, and while it is picked, you can watch the crew on the Floor.

Once it has shipped, the order shows each package with its tracking number and the carrier’s latest event. Like a real carrier, the Demo Carrier sometimes finds nobody at home and tries again the next weekday, or leaves the parcel with a neighbour.

If the Warehouse cannot deliver an article in full, the order marks the line and you pay only for what you get.

Cancel an order

While the order is Open, Cancel order on the order page cancels it and puts its articles back on sale. About an hour after ordering, the Warehouse starts work on it. From then on, it can no longer be cancelled.

Emails you receive

Orders from your account send real emails to your address: a confirmation when you order, a message when the order is cancelled, when not everything can be delivered, and when it is on its way. The ERP keeps a copy of each email.

Other visitors see your order as Shop customer, without your name, address, or email address. Only you and the administrator see your details.
